Parent Tot Super Sports
This program gives you and your child an opportunity to bond and have fun together while learning a variety of sports. This class is great for improving simple motor skills such as; catching, throwing, batting, shooting, passing, running and really helps in developing hand-eye coordination. Parents participate with the child as we play soccer, basketball, hockey, t-ball, football and other sports. This is a great intro to the All-Star programs and staff where parents can help in making the kids feel comfortable.

Jr. Super Sports
This is for the all-around athlete or for a child who wants to try all different sports! Stay active and work on balance, motor skills and hand eye coordination all while learning the rules of baseball, football, floor hockey, soccer, basketball and more! We will focus on a new sport each class and work on basic rules and mechanics all while we play games that keep everyone moving. There’s no reason to pick a sport when you can play them all!

Jr. Flag Football Skills
This program is designed to simplify the jobs of each position and have the players understand the importance of team work. Each player will learn the main positions of both offense and defense by having the opportunity to play them all. All-Star Sports will focus on the proper mechanics of running pass routes, receiving, line play, taking hand offs and throwing. This program allows players to learn the game without the risk of major injuries in our fun and safe environment and will teach the basic rules to prepare them for game play. There will be minimal contact and NO TACKLING.

Flag Football Skills
This program is designed to increase skill level and overall knowledge of the game of football. Speed and agility drills will be used to help with balance, lateral and linear movements and explosiveness from a set stance. Footwork and balance are extremely important for every position on the field and will be worked on every class. Quarterback, running back, line play and receiving will be focused on, as well as defensive tactics. There will be minimal contact and NO TACKLING

Jr. Basketball
Our instructional program is designed to teach the game of basketball at a basic level while making sure the players stay active and engaged the entire class! Fun basketball like games will be played to teach the importance of each skill learned. Our foundation technique focuses on basic mechanics to build confidence then adding larger challenges as we progress. Footwork is an extremely important aspect of the game.
This means no players will be sitting! We will work on dribbling with both hands, passing and shooting techniques and understanding basic offense and defense. All of our programs are based on learning teamwork and sportsmanship.

Dodgeball
Duck, Dip, Dive, and DODGE!!! Join the All-Star Sports Instruction staff for a session of pure excitement and fun! This exciting game is on the rise again and is much different than your parent’s dodgeball! New rules, tactics, and different games will be played with a safe and soft Gator Skin ball. Our dodgeball program focuses on speed and agility and promises that no one sits around! Each child will also receive a participation award at the end of the session as well as a good night’s rest after each time playing!

Volleyball Skills
To play competitive level volleyball, players must learn to perfect their skills and continue to improve speed, coordination and balance. Speed and agility drills will help increase short area quickness, improve defensive range, explosiveness to elevate and finish points and increases power and balance. All skills are covered in detail and games will be played using defensive and offensive strategies.

Jr. T-Ball
T-Ball can be a boring game if taught the wrong way! The All-Star approach to baseball is one that will engage all players no matter their skill level. Our coaching technique will provide basic building blocks in a fun and safe environment. We have created a system that keeps the players moving and learning even while in the dugout! Mechanics and hand eye coordination are the keys to early success. Players in this program will be more confident in this active class as we work on the proper mechanics of catching, throwing, fielding, base running and batting. This fun and exciting program will prepare each player for the next level, t-ball or coach pitch leagues. All of our programs are based on learning teamwork and sportsmanship.

Baseball Hitting Development Clinics
Players will work on developing hand-eye coordination through a variety of drills such as quick stick drills, whiffle ball/small ball drills, tee work, and tracking drills. These drills are applicable to players of all levels to help develop better hand eye coordinator, pitch recognition, and contact with the swing. There will be plenty of one on one work and instruction along with small group work. These drills will help your child develop into a better hitter and develop more confidence at the plate. Classes will take place on the Majors Field at Veteran’s Memorial Park. Instructor: Dustin Kleefisch, Superintendent of Recreation.

Baseball Pitching Development
Players will work on developing proper pitching mechanics, learning techniques to pitch and throw with more accuracy and velocity. Repeatable mechanics and muscle memory are the keys for children to develop into successful high school and college baseball players. The drills and activities done during these classes will teach young baseball players muscle memory, mechanics, and how to identify and recognize issues for quick in-game adjustments.

Youth Karate
Illinois Shotokan Karate Club is Chicagoland’s premier karate school taught under the instruction of John DiPasquale, a four-time National Champion, US National Coach and President of the US National Karate Federation. ISKC’s Youth karate classes will put children in touch with their bodies and offers a good mix of strength training, with cardiovascular and flexibility exercises. Children increase their coordination, agility and poise, as well as learn lasting personal safety skills. They also benefit from the mental stimulation of learning the choreographed moves of the kata and the discipline of conforming to the class rules.

Adult Karate

In addition to self-defense skills, karate increases flexibility, cardiovascular endurance, and muscle tone, while improving core strength.
