DESCRIPTION:Express your creativity! Let’s color splash the sidewalk in front of the museum into a mosaic of designs. We’ll provide the chalk; you bring your ideas and drawing skills! No previous art experience required. This interactive art activity is a great way to enjoy the community atmosphere and show off your ingenious\, creative side! Drawings will be judged and prizes awarded at 1:30 pm. Program is FREE\, however\, we ask that you pre- register by May 17. You can register the day of the program as long as space is available.

DESCRIPTION:Keep your eye to the sky in the month of May. The Westmont Park District will take part in the 6th annual Flying 4 Kids statewide kite fly in May to help promote the sport of kite flying. We will have the Chicago Kite Club come out to do demonstrations and show off their assortment of kites. At 1:00PM we will have the participants take part in the “Candy Drop\,” which allows the kids to collect candy that falls from the kites. If you don’t have a kite\, no problem\, there will be opportunities at this event to make your own kite. Come on out and enjoy the lost art of kite flying. Concessions will be available to purchase.

SUMMARY:Race to the Flag 5K
DESCRIPTION:The 8th annual Race to The Flag 5K Run/Walk will begin and end at beautiful Ty Warner Park. The course travels throughout the Oakwood subdivision. Event participants will receive a race t-shirt\, a ticket to the Lions Club Pancake Breakfast as well as have the opportunity to engage with supporting organizations and businesses from around the community while enjoying the festivities of the Red\, White\, and BBQ weekend. The event is a fundraiser for the People’s Resource Center and is a super opportunity for the entire family to get involved. The course is CARA and USATF certified and runners as well as walkers are welcome to participate. A designated starting location will be identified for participants pushing strollers. The race will be on Sunday\, May 27 and begin at 8:00am.
