“Be An Inventor” Family Night

Illinois is famous for a lot of things including deep dish pizza. But there are some awesome things we use every day that most of us have no idea originated in Illinois. Meet Terry Lynch, professional actor and storyteller. Portraying an early newspaper hawker, he will give you the” inside scoop” on our Land of Lincoln legends and their inventions.  Hear about inventors Marvin Camras, tape recorder; Laurens Hammond, electronic keyboard; Levant Richardson, ball bearing roller skates; Charles Pajeau, tinker toys; Ives McGaffrey, vacuum cleaner, and Whitcomb Judson, zipper, to name a few. The best part of all is that kids can be an inventor after the presentation. (reccommended for children grades K-4) We will supply materials; you put on your creative thinking caps and create something awesome! Please register early.  Museum members call (630) 969-8080 to reserve your free seat.
