Older adults over the age of 55 are invited to become a part of the senior community at the Westmont Park District. See all that we have to offer with our exciting senior programs, trips, and classes. Come join us and participate in our many daily activities that will enhance your busy life style. Age is simply a state of mind!

Senior Center

Location

55 East Richmond Street (the former Westmont Library). You can enter either on Richmond or Linden. There are 6 stairs to the lower level and 10 stairs going to the upper level. There is an elevator when you enter on Linden Street.

Lower Level

This area is a lounge with a large-screen TV and DVD player, a blood pressure machine and tables for cards and games.

Upper Level

Meetings, seminars, senior chorus and watercolor classes are held here, along with Zumba Gold and Ageless Grace exercise classes.

Times

The Senior Center is open from 8:30 am-4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Senior activities information, appointments for services, general information: 630-969-8080 Alice ext. 104. If no one is there to answer the phone, you will be switched to an automated message!

Registration

All registration takes place at the Community Center, 75 East Richmond, or call 630-963-5252.

Bus Trips

Bus Trips leave from in front of the Community Center, 75 East Richmond.

Parking

The East side of Linden Street, or the East or West sides of the Community Center. Please park on the West side of the Community Center when you attend a day trip.

Rules of the Road

A representative from the Secretary of State’s off will teach this free refresher course. The class is offered 3 times a year, January, May, and September. Call for dates and registration.

Meals on Wheels

DuPage Senior Citizens Council offers seniors living in DuPage County home-delivered hot meals, Monday-Friday. Please call the main office at 630-620-0804 ex. 1 for more information.

Newsletter

“Young At Heart News”, the Senior newsletter, issued three times a year, gives you current information on trips, special events, services and programs. To cover mailing costs residents are charged $6/year, non-residents pay $9/year.  Newsletters can be picked up free of charge at the community center or senior center. Subscriptions run from January to December.

Both residents and non-residents of Westmont are encouraged to participate and are warmly welcomed at all activities and events planned for Seniors at the Westmont Park District. Wherever your interests lie, you will be sure to find something to please you. Age is a state of mind! Come on out and discover for yourself what is available. Perhaps this is the year you will try our chorus, or join our bowling league. We do the planning; you bring us your sense of adventure and a little spare time. Now is your time to enjoy yourself and meet some new friends too.

Classes/PROGRAMS

Currently on the agenda is Watercolor, Tai Chi, Zumba Gold, Ageless Grace chair fitness, and Pickleball.

In-Center Activities

Our center is very lively; activities are generally free of charge. They include informational and educational speakers, special occasion parties, monthly birthday parties, movies, cards and book reviews.

Travel Opportunities

During the year, extended trips to interesting locations are planned with the assistance of local established Senior tour agencies. The trips may be anywhere from 2-21 days in length; the advantage is that you can travel with friends from the Westmont area.

Senior Chorus

All you need is a love of music. The chorus meets Tuesdays from 1:00-2:00 pm. Come join the fun. https://westmontjoyfulvoices.org/ (Currently suspended.)

Golf League

Plays at Twin Lakes, our 9-hole course. League plays April-September.

Bowling League

Plays at Suburbanite Bowl, September-April.
