Bend, twirl, jump, and bounce! This program will include a variation of large motor skills, various exercises and games, and the use of props to create a fun, imaginative class where students learn the fundamentals of dance. Students will be introduced to movement, music, and coordination with an introduction to ballet terminology and technique. Students will finish the program with a beginners knowledge of dance. Dancers should wear leotard and tights, skirts or tutus are optional. Pink ballet shoes (leather or canvas) and black tap shoes required.

Jazz is a fun, high energy style of dance that is a great workout, improves flexibility, and is used in many Broadway hits! Hip Hop is a genre of dance that provides a certain style of creativity, attitude, posture, and choreography for your dancer. Students should wear fitted tank with leggings, yoga pants, or shorts. Black hip hop, jazz, or gym shoes (not worn outside) are required.

Westmont Performing Arts is an organization whose mission is to inspire, nurture, challenge, amaze, educate, and empower artists and audiences in order to artistically enhance our village, through diverse access and a variety of participation opportunities.
We are an association of amateur artists, whose intent is to support all aspects of the performing arts, including: dance, music, poetry, as well as the theatrical arts.
Our plan is embrace anyone, boys, girls, men, and women with experience or no experience from 7 years old to 100 years old to encourage them to participate. Our sponsor, the Westmont Park District will host workshop/classes on acting throughout the Winter/Spring seasons. Summer will be our most active season where we will present two well known productions that will include music and drama. We will continue to create a presence in our community through Westmont’s community events, such as, the Taste of Westmont, Halloween, parades, and Holly Days.
Through private instruction, your child will learn the fundamentals of piano/keyboard playing. Note reading, rhythm, technique and personal expression are taught in a fun way. By the end of the session, your child will be able to play familiar tunes! Piano lessons are available Monday and Tuesday afternoons and Saturdays. Each lesson is 30 minutes.

Beginning Guitar
This guitar class is set up for beginning students and will teach them how to play and jam with their peers. Emphasis is placed on having fun while learning! Along with guitar playing essentials, students will learn guitar skills through playing classic pop songs. Essential guitar skills and basic note-reading are taught in a fun, supportive setting that allows students to develop at their own pace. Note: instruments not provided.
